Mandatory Reporting
Client: Northern Territory Department of Education
Helping educators recognise and act on child safety concerns
-
Educators play a critical role in protecting children, but mandatory reporting responsibilities can be complex and difficult to apply in real situations. Policies are often communicated through dense written materials or training documents, making it challenging for teachers and school staff to confidently recognise signs of abuse or know when and how to act.
There was a need for a clear, practical resource that could support consistent understanding across diverse education settings and be integrated into eLearning training. -
Educational Animations developed a series of short, scenario-based animations designed for use within an eLearning module.
Each video presents a realistic school-based situation where a child may be at risk, allowing educators to observe behaviours, reflect on warning signs, and consider appropriate responses.
The storytelling approach translates child protection policy into everyday contexts, showing what mandatory reporting looks like in practice.
Simple visuals and focused narratives support understanding without overwhelming the viewer, making the content accessible for staff with varying levels of experience and training.

The animations provide education departments with an engaging and practical training resource that supports mandatory reporting obligations.
By embedding the videos within eLearning, organisations can deliver consistent safeguarding training at scale, helping educators:
recognise signs of abuse and neglect
understand their legal responsibilities
respond appropriately and with confidence
The project demonstrates how scenario-based animation can strengthen compliance training by turning policy into clear, usable action.
